Sixers star Joel Embiid reacts to Kansas winning title over North Carolina

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid reacts to Kansas knocking off North Carolina in the championship game.

With Monday night marking the conclusion of the 2021-22 college basketball season, all eyes were on New Orleans as the Kansas Jayhawks took on the North Carolina Tar Heels. It had been a terrific NCAA Tournament as it was filled with drama, buzzer beaters, and ended with two great teams going at it.

Kansas ended up on top 72-69 as Caleb Love’s triple fell short at the buzzer as the Jayhawks won their first national title since 2008 and it was the fourth in school history.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, the third pick of the 2014 NBA draft out of Kansas, was excited as he took to Twitter to congratulate his alma mater.

Embiid played 28 games for Kansas and averaged 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds before becoming the face of the Sixers. Even though he only spent the one season in Lawrence, it is clear that the big fella and MVP candidate has some love for Kansas as they won their championship.
