Sixers Playoff Rewind: Allen Iverson drops 52 points on the Raptors

We wind the clocks back to the 2001 playoffs when Allen Iverson dropped 52 for the Philadelphia 76ers.

We turn to our playoff rewind as we take a look back at some of the better playoff performances in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers. This edition takes us back to the exciting playoff series in 2001 against the Toronto Raptors in the semifinals.

As the Sixers returned home after a Game 4 win, they had the chance to push Toronto to the brink of elimination. To get it done, they needed another superhuman performance from their MVP, Allen Iverson.

The 6-foot guard from Georgetown delivered. He went for 52 points on efficient 21-for-32 shooting while draining eight 3-pointers in an easy 121-88 win over Toronto in Game 5. Iverson went to the foul line twice, and he had seven assists and four steals in the win.

Iverson’s performance gave the Sixers the lead, and he gave them the opportunity to get the job done. However, going to Toronto to eliminate Vince Carter and the Raptors would be no easy feat.
