Sixers, players come together in solidarity for #blackouttuesday

The Philadelphia 76ers organization and their players are coming together for a social media movement on Tuesday.

The world is hurting right now as they demand justice for the murder of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There have been protests across the country as others speak up and try to let their voice be heard in this massive effort.

A lot of people have been involved in this movement and that includes the Philadelphia 76ers who have been outspoken in their support. The organization itself released a statement in support of people coming together and against police brutality. Players such as Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Mike Scott have all made their statements as well and have participated in peaceful protests.

Tuesday was a new movement as a trend called #blackouttuesday is beginning to overtake social media as everybody tries to come together in unity for a very important cause right now. It is in order to bring awareness for what the protests are about right now and the fact everybody needs to come together.

Along with the organization itself, Harris also posted a blacked-out picture for the same reason.

Scott also stepped up and posted the same thing.

Then, of course, Thybulle posted the same thing on his Instagram account.

This is an important time in our country. Now more than ever, the need to come together and be one is a huge part of a movement towards real change. [lawrence-related id=32486,32479,32471]
