Sixers legend Allen Iverson explains love for Larry Brown, Philadelphia fans

Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson opens up on Larry Brown and his love for the Philadelphia faithful.

Allen Iverson is not just a Philadelphia 76ers legend, he is a Philadelphia legend just in general. He has done so much for the Sixers franchise and delivered countless terrific moments in Philadelphia sports history that he can do no wrong there.

He was able to turn into a star and a leader under coach Larry Brown and he put his 6-foot frame on the line every night for Sixers fans no matter how injured he was or what was going on in his life. The acts of greatness he performed on the hardwood nightly will never be forgotten.

Iverson joined Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on “All The Smoke” to discuss playing for Brown and the influence he had on him.

Iverson on Brown:

He the greatest. How is he not involved in any organization, at all? He don’t want no money. He just wants his voice to be heard. He goes around in life and everywhere he at, airports, wherever he at and people walk up to him and say ‘You’re Allen Iverson’s coach’ and he loves that feeling. You know how that makes me feel though?

He then turned his attention to his relationship with the fans and how he would always play hard for them no matter how many bruises he had:

Tawanna Iverson like could sit up and watch me walk to the bathroom in the monrning and be like ‘ain’t no way in hell he playing today’…then I get there and I see them [expletive] fans and look in them eyes? Man, what? I’m playing! I don’t give a [expletive] if the [expletive] hanging off man, I’m playing. Just for my guys and them [expletive] Philadelphia fans.

Iverson has always been vocal about his love for the Philadelphia fans in the past so this is nothing new. It is always cool to see him open up a bit on those relationships and how hurt he really was on a nightly basis. There aren’t many guys in the league quite like The Answer.
