Sixers’ Joel Embiid diagnosed with meniscus injury, will remain out

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has been diagnosed with a meniscus injury and will remain out for a bit.

The Philadelphia 76ers received the results of the MRI and evaluation of Joel Embiid’s knee injury. The big fella missed two games due to left knee soreness. He returned against the Golden State Warriors only to leave the game early.

The MRI revealed Embiid has an injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee. He will be out at least through the weekend while the Sixers come up with a treatment plan.

Embiid is out for Thursday’s road matchup with the Utah Jazz and will miss at least Saturday’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets at home. The Sixers play host to the Dallas Mavericks at home on Monday.

Philadelphia has to hope Embiid will not miss too much time. The Sixers are 3-9 in games that he misses. If he misses significant time, they will have to find ways to win consistently without him.
