While the Philadelphia 76ers picked up a huge, 103-101, win over the Boston Celtics thanks to a masterful performance by Joel Embiid, their G League affiliate started the G League finals on the right note.
The Delaware Blue Coats defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 134-120, in Game 1 of the finals on Tuesday night. Second-year guard Jaden Springer had a huge night: 43 points on 14-for-30 shooting, including 5-for-8 from deep. He had nine rebounds, four assists, four blocks and two steals. He was terrific while stuffing the box score for the Blue Coats.

Along with a big Springer night, the Blue Coats also received a big night from Mac McClung. The slam dunk champion who’s on a two-way deal with the Sixers poured in 35 points on 11-for-21 shooting. He had seven assists.

The Blue Coats also received 17 points, 15 rebounds and five assists from Charlie Brown Jr. Michael Foster Jr. contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds. Braxton Key added 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
