Philadelphia 76ers rookies Jaden Springer and Aaron Henry have each been assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats and will participate in training camp ahead of the start of the NBA G League season.
The news was reported by Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire.
76ers head coach Doc Rivers hinted earlier this month that Springer could spend time with the Blue Coats. The Sixers have plenty of depth in the backcourt — even without Ben Simmons — which could mean Springer may not see a ton of playing time.
Springer averaged 2.5 points, two rebounds and one assist in four appearances with the Sixers during the preseason. Henry, who is signed to a two-way contract, averaged 2.5 points, 1.8 steals, 1.5 rebounds and one assist in four games.

Rivers previously pointed to Blue Coats head coach Coby Karl and his ability to develop players. The team has used the Blue Coats extensively and has found success so they certainly feel comfortable with sending Springer and Henry to Delaware to start the year.
Springer and Henry figure to spend much of the season in a developmental role, either with the Sixers or Blue Coats. The opportunity to play with the Blue Coats should only help improve their games and ease the transition to the NBA.
The Blue Coats begin the regular season on Nov. 6 vs. the Long Island Nets.
