Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey out vs. Nets due to left thigh contusion

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is out against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left thigh contusion.

As the Philadelphia 76ers get set to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday looking to bounce back from a loss on Wednesday, they will do so a little more shorthanded than usual.

While they were already missing Georges Niang due to being in the league’s health and safety protocols, they now will be without Tyrese Maxey who is out due to a left thigh contusion. Maxey was sensational in the second half against the Miami Heat on Wednesday so this is a big loss for them.

To replace Maxey in the lineup, coach Doc Rivers will turn to Shake Milton to start. Milton was also one of the few Sixers to play well on Wednesday as they look to move forward.

Milton will join Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, and Danny Green in the starting lineup as they move back to a more traditional lineup in the form of Green starting next to Embiid.

The Sixers will tipoff with the Nets from Barclays Center at 7:30 p.m. EST.
