Sixers guard Shake Milton nominated for Conference Player of the Week

Philadelphia 76ers guard Shake Milton was nominated for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Shake Milton continues to receive some love after his strong performances in recent games after he missed some time while being in the league’s health and safety protocols. It has been impressive how well he has played stepping back into the lineup after a week off.

After scoring 31 points with seven assists against the Miami Heat on Jan. 14, the young guard then had 28 points with 15 in the fourth quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. The second performance came in a losing effort, but it was still a big game for the young man out of SMU.

For that performance, Milton was nominated for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award. He did not win it as it ultimately went to Brooklyn Nets scoring machine Kevin Durant, but it’s good for Milton to get that type of recognition right now.

Milton will continue to receive a large amount of playing time as he gets his legs back underneath him. He has given the Sixers a huge lift off their bench and he will be a big factor for them moving forward.
