Sixers guard Josh Richardson gives update on hamstring injury

Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson gives an update on his injury recovery.

The Philadelphia 76ers projected starting lineup has not played many games together due to a variety of reasons and just when they were about to get some more games in together, the injury bug rose his head.

Sixers starting shooting guard Josh Richardson has been hampered by a hamstring injury that has bothered him enough to now miss his fourth straight game on Thursday when the team takes on the Washington Wizards.

Before the matchup on Thursday, Richardson gave up an update on his recovery.

“Right now, I’m just starting getting back on the court,” said Richardson. “Doing workouts by myself, still just trying to get all the way comfortable and get my strength back again. We’ll just keep seeing in the next couple of days hopefully.”

Does that mean Richardson will come back in a couple of days?

“I don’t know, it’s just the process. I’m hoping to see more progress,” he added.

Richardson has never gone through a hamstring injury before in his career so this is all so new to him. He wants to take things slowly and make sure he’s at full strength before coming back.

“A hamstring is one of those things, you can think that you’re fine, but you take one wrong step and then it’s a week or two weeks,” he finished up with. “I don’t want really to get into that whole cycle.”

The Sixers will play next on Saturday to begin a home back-to-back where they will first face the Cleveland Cavaliers before hosting the Toronto Raptors.  [lawrence-related id=20644,20635,20628]
