Sixers discuss the transition defense issues, how they can fix them

The Philadelphia 76ers discuss their defensive issues in transition and how they can continue to fix them.

CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers are a top 5 defensive team in the league as they currently rank fifth in defensive rating at 109.8. When the Sixers are able to get back and settle into their half-court defense, they are able to buckle down and get stops in that sense.

However, transition defense continues to be a bugaboo for this team on a nightly basis.

There have been improvements since Joel Embiid returned to the floor, but the Sixers do rank 27th in fastbreak points allowed in the league at 16.1 per game. Per Cleaning the Glass, they get run on at a 16.4% rate which is ranked 27th in the league and they have had trouble getting back and setting up their defense at times and it’s something coach Doc Rivers continues to figure out.
