Sixers come in ranked 7th in ESPN’s latest edition of NBA Power Rankings

The Philadelphia 76ers come in ranked 7th in ESPN’s latest edition of their power rankings.

The Philadelphia 76ers had themselves an up and down week. They had solid wins, but also a couple of really disappointing losses.

The Sixers started the week with a Martin Luther King Day loss to the Washington Wizards. Joel Embiid dropped 50 to beat the Orlando Magic. Then they let a 24-point lead slip away to the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers. Philadelphia bounced back to beat the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

The Sixers received solid play from Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris to help Embiid get it done against the Magic and the Spurs.

A new week brings new power rankings and ESPN has a new edition with the Sixers coming in ranked seventh after a 2-2 week:

Joel Embiid continues to carry the 76ers, and now has scored 30 points in 12 straight road games after doing so again in San Antonio on Sunday night. Philadelphia is now 12-4 since dropping to .500 for the season in mid-December. That surge has made the 76ers one of six teams to enter this week within two games in the loss column of the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Sixers will begin a new week on Tuesday when they begin a five-game homestand against the New Orleans Pelicans. They are looking to build off their road success and continue the latest surge that has them moving up in the standings.
