Sixers can’t execute late, fall to Pacers 101-95 to continue road skid

The Philadelphia 76ers continue to struggle on the road with a loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The Philadelphia 76ers were right there in the guts of the game in the fourth quarter, but once again, they could not make the plays late in order to get a win.

Josh Richardson, who was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday, went off in the final quarter scoring 17 points in the final frame to finish with 23 for the game and his efforts almost led Philadelphia to a much needed win. Instead, they could not make the plays needed down the stretch and they fell to the Indiana Pacers 101-95 for their sixth straight loss on the road. They are now just 7-14 on the road.

After Richardson drilled a tough 3-pointer to give Philadelphia a 95-94 lead with 2:03 left, they did not score again and they committed a few turnovers. The Pacers were able to get to the line and they closed out the win.

Ben Simmons led Philadelphia with 24 points and 14 rebounds, Tobias Harris had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Al Horford had 10 points and eight rebounds. Once again, the second half was an issue as they were outscored by Indiana 60-46 as they were not able to gut out a road win. Also, 3-point shooting was another issue as they shot just 6-for-33 from deep.

They will return home to the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday to host the Brooklyn Nets looking to get their mojo back. [lawrence-related id=23361,23351,23338]
