Sixers big man Andre Drummond believes Tyrese Maxey has bright future

Philadelphia 76ers big man Andre Drummond believes Tyrese Maxey has a very bright future ahead of him.

Young Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey continues to turn heads in the league for handling a difficult situation as well as anybody can. The young man is in his second NBA season, and, at age 21, is the starting point guard for a title contender.

Maxey has been filling in for the Sixers at point guard as they continue to work through the Ben Simmons situation and he has played well. During the team’s recent six-game road trip, he scored more than 20 points in four games. Philadelphia went 2-4 on the trip while being very short-handed in all six games.

Maxey still has a long way to go, but he continues to earn the respect of his peers. Newcomer Andre Drummond has certainly been impressed with what he has seen from the young man.

“Well, this is my first year playing with Tyrese Maxey,” said Drummond. “This kid is very talented. Very talented kid. He has a lot to learn obviously as a basketball player and as a point guard, but as of right now play with him, he’s a lot of fun to play with. High energy guy. Super, super talented again and the sky’s the limit for him.”

Maxey now has to continue to grow as a player. He had success while gaining some lessons on the trip. But Philadelphia needs to get moving in the right direction again by winning, and he will be a big reason for that with his strong play.
