The Philadelphia 76ers enter the 2020 offseason knowing what they need to improve. They really need more shooting to properly space the floor for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and they also need a ball-handler.
They can find both of those needs in one player in Stanford’s Tyrell Terry who makes a lot of sense for the Sixers with their first-round pick at 21 overall. Philadelphia has the pick thanks to the surprise success of the Oklahoma City Thunder who won just enough games to have the pick convey to the Sixers.
In a mock draft performed by Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report, he has the Sixers selecting Terry at 21 overall:
The 76ers might already be thinking about Terry, who’d give them another ball-handler and shooter. Teams have questioned how much his listed 6’1″, 160-pound frame will hold him back, but sources say his latest measurements show he’s grown and added weight. Regardless, his skill level and efficiency at Stanford were strong enough to bet on at No. 21.
Terry played mostly shooting guard at Stanford as a freshman averaging 14.6 points with 4.5 rebounds and he shot 40.8% from deep on 4.9 attempts per game. He did also get some time at point guard as he ran their offense at times and he averaged 3.2 assists per game. The ball-handling ability will be nice for a Sixers team continuing to look into moving Simmons off the ball a bit more. [lawrence-related id=37710,37706,37703]
