The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of work to do heading into the 2020 offseason as they need to fill some important holes on their roster. One of them is the serious need for shooting and they can fill that need in the draft.
Due to the surprising success of the Oklahoma City Thunder, their pick conveyed to the Sixers at 21 overall and Philadelphia will now look to find a shooter with that pick. There is one player that continues to pop up in mock drafts and that is Stanford guard Tyrell Terry who has already interviewed with Philadelphia.
In a new mock draft performed by NBC Sports, they also have Terry mocked to the Sixers at 21:
At 6-foot-1, Terry is a bit undersized for today’s game but punches above his weight as a defender and rebounder. He is also a very good three-point shooter, this season knocking down 40.8% on 4.9 attempts per game. That’s very impressive for a freshman and could lead to some early success, likely in a second or third point guard role. It also suggests he could play off-the-ball.
As mentioned, Terry is not just a guy who will catch and shoot as he is a guy who can also handle the ball and run the offense a little bit. He also offers versatility being able to swing between either guard spot so that would give coach Doc Rivers a couple of different options with him. [lawrence-related id=38427,38421,38424]
