The 2020 NBA draft is finally here. It is Wednesday and now is the time for teams to get their draft picks in order for a big night where they look to find the next piece for their roster.
For the Philadelphia 76ers, there is still no guarantee of what the team will do heading into this draft. With Daryl Morey in the building as the president of basketball operations, the Sixers could absolutely trade the 21st pick in this draft in order for somebody who can help them win a title right now.
For the moment, they have this pick. Now is the time for the final mock drafts. A mock draft performed by the NBA Wire staff and put together by our sister site, Rookie Wire, has the Sixers selecting Stanford’s Tyrell Terry at 21:
Philadelphia needs shooting in the worst way possible. Their offense was a train wreck in the 2019-20 season. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid struggled to find any room to operate with Al Horford also clogging up the middle.
Terry shot 40.8% from deep as a freshman at Stanford, so that fills the need for a shooter and he also does a terrific job of setting up others. With that in mind, he brings a dual threat to the position as a shooter and a ball-handler which are two needs the Sixers have.
Philadelphia will definitely be one team to keep an eye on as draft night continues to inch closer. The Sixers will be under a lot of pressure to make a big move either in the trade market to get out of Horford’s contract or they have to nail down this pick in order to get the proper spacing on the floor.
