The 2020 NBA draft is fast approaching as it is only 11 days away and it will be done virtually due to the global coronavirus pandemic. As draft day continues to creep up, teams are beginning to do their due diligence and their final preparation for the day.
For the Philadelphia 76ers, they have five picks in this draft that they can use at their disposal. One of those picks is a Round 1 pick at 21 via a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder so the Sixers have some work to do with that pick.
The team has an obvious need for shooting on the roster and one guy that has popped up consistently on mock draft boards at 21 is Stanford’s Tyrell Terry who shot 40.8% from deep as a freshman.
A new mock draft performed by NBC Sports has the Sixers taking Terry at 21 as well:
The Sixers need shooters desperately and Terry can hoist from anywhere on the court. The Stanford guard is a riser in this year’s draft after growing an inch and packing on a bunch of muscle. If he can earn minutes, Terry’s ability to space the floor could really help Embiid and Simmons.
As mentioned, the Sixers really need shooting around Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid so their offense can run smoothly. Terry might not be JJ Redick right away or anything like that, but if he can at least resemble him a bit, that would make a huge difference for them on that end of the floor.
