Should the Steelers add a veteran QB in free agency?

Our question today is all about the backup quarterback position.

We’ve heard over and over this offseason that the Pittsburgh Steelers are satisfied with their backup quarterback situation. But the majority of fans and the media all believe the Steelers need to bolster depth at quarterback if for no other reason than to avoid what happened in 2019.

The last thing the Steelers want is a repeat of what happened last season and see them squander another great season out of the defense and all that talent on offense with terrible quarterback play.

So as we approach whatever training camp and offseason workouts will look like, we wonder if despite their confidence in Mason Rudolph, should the Steelers front office sign a veteran as insurance?

No one is saying a veteran signing would change the long-term plans of the Steelers. If the goal is to eventually hand the job over to Rudolph, so be it. But in a year when this team is loaded to win, why not have a more stable option behind Roethlisberger?
