San Antonio Spurs superstar rookie Victor Wembanyama has himself a very busy summer planned with the 2024 Paris Olympics taking place in his native country. Should the Spurs consider scaling back the minutes the Frenchman is playing for San Antonio during the 2023-24 NBA regular season to prevent unnecessary injuries?

Or would Wemby chafe at such a suggestion, with his hyper-competitive nature? Keeping the balance of player development and satisfying the desire of Wembanyama to compete will be a dance the Spurs need to excel in for the short-term future. But if any team in the league knows how to make that happen, it is San Antonio.

To talk over the prudent course of action for the Spurs, the host of the “Locked On Spurs” podcast, Jeff Garcia, weighed in on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what Garcia think San Antonio ought to do to protect the health of Wembanyama for the future.
