The Philadelphia 76ers grew a little healthier on Sunday as they welcomed back two big pieces to their team: Ben Simmons and Shake Milton.
The team fell to the Toronto Raptors as the bench unit struggled again, but with the return of Milton to the floor, it should be able to find its rhythm again.
Milton is one of the main contributors off the bench as he is a guy who can provide a quick spark whenever the time calls for it. He can get to the basket. He can shoot it from all three levels on the floor, and his return should give the team that much-needed spark.
“Me, personally, I think just being aggressive and looking for guys and continuing to encourage them,” said Milton. “Because guys like Isaiah Joe, Furk (Furkan Korkmaz) don’t really take much for them to get going. All they need is to see it go through once.”
Joe is taking his turn in the rotation over a struggling Korkmaz, so it will be interesting to see how he performs in the new, extended role for him. Having Milton back out on the floor should work well for the team as they continue to get their bench back to respectability again.
After all, he is the leader of that unit.
“It’s just getting into the paint, making plays for others,” he added. “Then, being on guard and encouraging them to keep going so that’s what I’m gonna do.”
The Sixers and the Raptors tip off at 7:30 p.m. EST from Tampa as they finish up their two-game series.
