Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looks smooth in a new gym video on IG

Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander diced up competition in this gym video he posted to ig:

Yeah, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s foot is looking fine. The star Oklahoma City Thunder guard looks ready for his fourth NBA season.

The 23-year-old posted a video clip put together by Swish Cultures of him hooping at a gym session with some other players. Gilgeous-Alexander was crossing defenders, hitting stepbacks, and getting to the rim.

It’s tough to make out who are the other players in the clip, but Cleveland Cavaliers rookie center Evan Mobley is present, and it looks like it may also include players such as Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Joel Ayayi and 2020 Golden State Warriors draft pick Justinian Jessup.

Gilgeous-Alexander sounds ready, too, captioning the video “Soon coming to a city near you” with a camcorder emoji.

The comments show his peers are impressed. Some are teammates Josh Giddey, Lu Dort and Darius Bazley. Bazley commented “Leave them kids alone.”

Pelicans wing Nickeil Alexander-Walker commented “Don’t bring that to New Orleans,” while Atlanta Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter laughed about the defenders, saying “Why bro ain’t ask for a switch?” Minnesota Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell also gave praise in a comment.

Gilgeous-Alexander is hoping to pick up where he left off before his foot injury, when he averaged 26.5 points on a 52.9/48.3/86.4 shooting line over his final dozen games of the season.

He emerged as a star in his first season as the No. 1 option and earned a max contract extension in the process. These types of summer gym videos can be deceiving, but if this one is any true indication, Gilgeous-Alexander is primed for another season of growth.
