It was a tough day for many former Tennessee players on Saturday.

It was a tough day for many VFLs, as all 32 NFL teams cut their rosters to 53 players on Saturday.

Below is a list of every former Tennessee player that was waived, and the team that made the decision.

WR Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers

DE Jonathan Kongbo – San Francisco 49ers

RB John Kelly – L.A. Rams

LB Daniel Bituli – L.A. Rams

TE Jason Croom – Buffalo Bills

S Nigel Warrior – Baltimore Ravens

TE Eli Wolf – Baltimore Ravens

QB Tyler Bray – Chicago Bears

DT Khalil McKenzie – Cincinnati Bengals

WR Josh Malone – New York Jets

TE Daniel Helm – New Orleans Saints

DT Daniel McCullers – Pittsburgh Steelers

QB Joshua Dobbs – Jacksonville Jaguars

Perhaps the most surprising of the players mentioned, was wide receiver Jauan Jennings. After being drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft, Jennings had received high praise from the 49ers front office and coaching staff.

A few former Vols considered fringe players did receive good news on Saturday, as wide receiver Marquez Callaway was retained on the Saints’ 53-man roster. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs was also claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by the Jaguars. Dobbs will return to the team that drafted him in 2017.
