Former Vol Seth Stephenson made his professional debut Tuesday with the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
Lakeland competes in the Florida State League and is a Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
Stephenson started in centerfield and recorded his first professional hit Wednesday against the St. Lucie Mets. He went 1-for-4 and recorded one stolen base.
Lakeland defeated the Mets, 4-3.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Stephenson appeared in 59 games during the 2022 season at Tennessee. He recorded four home runs, 28 RBIs, 46 runs, 62 hits, 17 doubles, one triple, 15 walks and 25 stolen bases in 2022.
Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division for the second consecutive season, the league regular season and tournament championships in 2022.
