Derwin James jokes he’ll treat Jalen Ramsey to McDonald’s after signing $76.4M deal

Derwin James had a hilarious response to Jalen Ramsey saying he owes him dinner

Derwin James became the highest-paid safety in NFL history on Wednesday when he agreed to a four-year deal worth $76.4 million. It’s not quite the contract Jalen Ramsey got from the Rams a few years ago, but both former Florida State DBs are paid handsomely now.

And so Jalen wants Derwin to buy him dinner.

Ramsey made the request on Twitter, writing “dinner on you now lil bro.” James responded to Ramsey’s claim during his press conference Wednesday, saying he’ll take his buddy to McDonald’s.

“Dollar Menu. That boy, he ain’t getting nothing,” James joked. “I’m just playing. We’re gonna eat good. I’m gonna take my brother somewhere nice.”

As happy as Ramsey is for his college teammate, he’s disappointed that there’s no chance the two will be on the same team for at least a few more years. At least they play in the same city, though.
