Seth Rollins hopes to avoid surgery on nagging back injury

Seth Rollins says he has been dealing with injuries dating as far back as 2019.

For years, Seth Rollins has dominated WWE programming as either a face or a heel, maintaining a consistent wrestling presence in that time. Most recently, he has been defending the revived WWE World Heavyweight Championship multiple times per month, whether on a television show, a premium live event or a non-televised event, but all that wrestling may have taken its toll on him.

On Logan Paul’s Impaulsive show, when asked about how he stays in shape and takes care of himself, Rollins admitted a few injury woes that date as soon as WrestleMania 39 and as far back as 2019 (h/t Fightful for transcription).

“I try to change my training up based on how I feel. There are constant injuries. My knee has been bugging me since before WrestleMania (39), I was having an issue with that. My neck acting up. My lower back has been at me since 2019, probably should get some surgery on that, but trying to just do whatever I can to make sure I don’t need it because I have a couple of stress fractures back there. I tried some stem cells, I’ve done a couple of stem cell treatments. I found that they were temporarily helpful. I wasn’t taking time off. I wasn’t just idling while I was on the stem cells, I was still working pretty much a full time schedule with WWE. I found it temporarily helpful, but long-term it kind of faded off a little bit. I got maybe four or five months of ‘ooooh, okay.'”

Pro wrestlers are always banged up, but Rollins has been fighting through long-term issues all to maintain his presence, especially now as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Hopefully, his health will hold up so he can keep delivering exciting matches in this entertaining stint as the titleholder, although taking some time off might help him in the long run.
