Michigan running back Donovan Edwards was still dealing with a hand injury when he took the field Saturday against No. 2 Ohio State, but judging by his impressive game, that detail was easy to forget.
With leading rusher Blake Corum also injured and on the bench for most of the game, Edwards had a standout performance in the No. 3 Wolverines’ dominant 45-23 victory over the Buckeyes, finishing with 22 carries for 216 yards and two touchdowns, which were the final daggers against the home team.
Averaging 9.8 yards per carry, he did it all with a cast on his right hand. He finished with more rushing yards than all of the Buckeyes — who had 143 total yards on the ground — combined. And he even managed to grab a couple catches too.
Edwards’ unbelievable stat line was, in large part, thanks to two monster touchdown runs in the fourth quarter on back-to-back Michigan drives — the first for 75 yards and the second for 85.
Here’s his first touchdown, a stunning sideline run and the only Wolverines’ drive:

Michigan is headed to the Big Ten championship game next week and, with a win, will almost certainly make the College Football Playoff for the second straight year.
