When the New York Giants drafted their future quarterback in Daniel Jones in the 2019 NFL Draft, they knew they were getting someone with similar qualities to those of Eli Manning.
Like Manning, many believe Jones has the type of the personality that can handle the New York media.
Jones made an appearance on NFL Network’s Draft-A-Thon hosted by Rich Eisen on Thursday night and was asked about the Giants’ first pick, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.
Jones said he had no idea that pick was coming, but quickly retracted his statement as his poker face faded.

Jones obviously doesn’t have the World Series of Poker in hi future, and Jimmy Johnson was quick to point that out.
The pick of Thomas should be a good one for not only the development of Jones, but running back Saquon Barkley as well.
Thomas, who has played on both the left and right side of the line, has a chance to earn a spot as Jones’ blindside blocker and could be part of a dynamic young core on the left side of the line with 2018 second-round pick Will Hernandez.
Jones is expected to be the face of the franchise for the foreseeable future. Hopefully the team’s selection of Thomas can help Jones cut down on the turnovers going into his sophomore season and continue to progress in his development.
