See it: Giants’ Graham Gano practices kicking in COVID-19 quarantine

New York Giants kicker Graham Gano, who is in quarantine with COVID-19, has found a unique way to stay in shape and keep his leg sharp.

The New York Giants placed kicker Graham Gano on the Reserve/COVID-19 list last Tuesday after the veteran had tested positive for the coronavirus.

In total, five additional players have been placed on the list since Gano contracted the virus, but two of those players — punter Riley Dixon and long snapper Casey Kreiter — have since been removed.

The hope for Gano is that he strings together a series of negative tests and is reactivated this Saturday, one day ahead of the team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. And by the looks of things, that’s likely to be the case.

Gano, who is fresh off a well-deserved contract extension, has not been able to practice with the Giants since his positive test came back, so he’s resorted to staying sharp in quarantine.

How in the world would a kicker do that, you ask? Good question. Let Gano show you himself.

Gano has set up Odell Beckham Jr.’s former bae, the kicking net, in what appears to be his hotel room (or basement office) in order to keep his leg fresh in the event he’s called upon.

The setup is not ideal for Gano, but hey, it’s 2020. What is ideal anyway? At least he appears to be feeling healthy and looking spry, which is really the most important thing in this scenario.

Gano has connected on 21 of his 22 field goal attempts this season, including each of his previous 20. If he can’t play on Sunday, the Giants will instead go with kicker/punter Ryan Santoso.
