SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum projects blowout in Peach Bowl

Finebaum shares not so kind words for Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt.

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum predicts that the Texas Longhorns will have a straightforward victory against the Arizona State Sun Devils on Wednesday.

He had some insights to share about Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, who earlier this week asserted his intention to prove his dominance over Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

Leavitt, during his press conference on Saturday, addressed the prospect of facing Ewers head-on.

“I’ve watched him for a fair amount of time now,” he said. “I’m just excited for the opportunity. People keep counting me out since day one, and I’m gonna go prove why I’m the better quarterback.”

On an episode of ESPN’s Get Up, SEC media personality Paul Finebaum had words to share about Leavitt’s words to the media.

“Sam, you’re not gonna prove you’re the better quarterback,” Finebaum said. “I’ve got bad news for ya there. Ultimately, he’s in real trouble here. I mean, I applaud anybody who talks a good game, but ultimately, Quinn Ewers is still one of the better quarterbacks in the country. He gets overrated a little bit, but this is not going to happen for Sam.”

“Texas should win this game,” Finebaum said. “I think they’ll win this game pretty easily too Greeny (ESPN’s Mike Greenberg).”

Texas vs. Arizona State is set for kickoff at 12pm on Wednesday New Year’s Day at 12pm on ESPN.
