SEC Baseball Tournament to change formats in 2025

With Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC, the conference will adjust is postseason baseball tournament format to feature all 16 teams.

The upcoming college baseball season will be the last to feature the SEC Tournament as we know it today.

SEC athletic directors approved a new format for the 2024-25 athletic year in anticipation of Oklahoma and Texas joining the conference. The new format will see all 16 SEC teams play in a single-elimination tournament over six days.

The four programs that finish on top of the conference will receive a double-bye and the Nos. 5-8 programs will get a one-day bye. Seeds 9 through 16, as determined by the final regular season standings, will play on Tuesday.
