The Buffalo Bills opened a roster space on Friday. The team announced that linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips was placed on the team’s injury reserve list.
Phillips had returned to the lineup in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks after dealing with a quad injury. Phillips was activated from the team’s injury reserve list prior to that game.
Because Phillips is returning to the injury reserve list, his season is over. A player can over return from the IR once a year.
The move now leaves a roster spot open on Buffalo’s roster. The team could announced a move on Saturday prior to their Week 10 meeting against the Arizona Cardinals (5-3) to fill that roster spot, however, the Bills don’t have to do so.
