[autotag]Cynthia Calvillo[/autotag] announced her arrival into the women’s flyweight division in a big way on Saturday in the UFC on ESPN 10 main event.

Despite never before fighting in the weight class in the UFC, Calvillo (9-1-1 MMA, 6-1-1 UFC) got paired up with former title challenger and top-ranked contender Jessica Eye (15-8 MMA, 5-7 UFC) for her debut, and she capitalized on the opportunity placed before her with a unanimous decision win.

The matchup was criticized for being positioned as a headliner on the card, which took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and in terms of the quality of the bout, it did leave something to be desired.

Any underwhelming feelings for Calvillo are quickly washed away by the upside of her situation, though. Calvillo immediately shoots up the rankings at 125 pounds and becomes a real factor at the top of her new division.

It was only a matter of moments before another former title challenger in [autotag]Katlyn Chookagian[/autotag] called for a clash with Calvillo, meaning good things are likely on the horizon for her.

Is Chookagian (14-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) the matchup that makes most sense for Calvillo, though? Or should the promotion go in another direction with her? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Calvillo’s future after UFC on ESPN 10.
