Seahawks updated 90-man roster by jersey number with UDFAs

In addition to the new arrivals, a couple of Seahawks players have changed jersey numbers for this year.

On Friday afternoon the Seattle Seahawks announced that they had signed 16 undrafted free agents. That plus the eight picks the team made during the 2024 NFL draft makes the offseason 90-man roster just about full. At the moment there are 89 players on the team, which means they still have room to add one more.

Speaking of the number 89, that particular jersey number has been given to Washington tight end Jack Westover, one of the team’s 16 undrafted free agent pickups and likely the most popular. No. 89 was last worn by fellow Huskies tight end Will Dissly, who just signed a three-year deal with the Chargers.

In addition to the new arrivals, a couple of players have changed jersey numbers for this year. Linebacker Patrick O’Connell has switched from No. 57 to No. 50, last worn by Vi Jones. Also, wide receiver Easop Winston Jr. has gone from No. 86 to No. 13, formerly held by Cody Thompson.

As for the open spot on the roster, most likely it is being reserved for either an invite from this weekend’s rookie minicamp such as Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, or perhaps a returning veteran free agent they’ve reportedly been in interested in recently like linebacker Jamal Adams or running back Rashaad Penny.

For now, let’s learn the numbers for all the new rookies who have just arrived.
