Seahawks to keep Quinton Dunbar ‘under wraps’ for a week or so

The Seattle Seahawks will keep cornerback Quinton Dunbar “under wraps” for a week or so as he is slowly phased into training camp practices.

The Seattle Seahawks got a welcome boost to their secondary last week when offseason acquisition, cornerback Quinton Dunbar, was removed from the NFL’s exempt list and allowed to report to Renton for training camp.

Like all players, Dunbar had to clear the COVID-19 testing protocol, which required three negative tests before he could enter the facility. He also needed to pass his physical last Friday.

Dunbar was able to do both and appeared on the field with this new teammates for the first time on Sunday. He won’t be a full participant in practice, however, for the next week or so.

“We’re going to keep him under wraps a little bit as we start these first few days with us, because he hasn’t had an offseason with us at all,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters during his virtual press conference on Monday. “But he’ll get going. Give him a week before we really get a chance to really check him out.”

Dunbar was suited up in pads on Monday and was able to participate in early drills. Expect 100% from the cornerback as early as next week.
