Seahawks safety Joey Blount carted off at training camp with back injury

Accounts indicate that Blount appears to have suffered a back injury while trying to break up a pass.

According to Greg Bell at the News Tribune – and also reported by Bob Condotta at the Seattle Times – Seahawks safety Joey Blount has been carted off the field at the team’s training camp practice.

Both of their accounts indicate that Blount appears to have suffered a back injury while trying to break up a pass.

We say it all the time here, but the guys on that back end are playing a very dangerous and often thankless position. Fans should remember that before they mock Jamal Adams for missing all the time he has – and also that Quandre Diggs is extremely fortunate to have recovered the way he did from his leg injury at the end of 2021.

Let’s hope Blount’s injury is a minor one and that he’ll be back out there soon.
