Seahawks safety Jamal Adams timeline for return unknown after surgery

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams underwent successful surgery to repair a torn quad tendon, but his timeline for return is not certain.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams has undergone surgery but his timeline for return still remains a question mark.

“The surgery went well and he’s resting at home,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Wednesday. “He’s going to be there for a while to begin his rehab. But everybody sounds pleased that it worked out okay.”

Adams went down in the first half of the season opener with what turned out to be a torn quadriceps tendon. Carroll confirmed that was the only injury that was addressed.

“No they didn’t do anything with the fingers as far as I know, I didn’t hear about that at all,” Carroll said. “He’s already had those worked on. That’s not the main concern right now.”

What is concerning, however, is that Adams’ prognosis and recovery time are not known at this time. For now, Carroll said, Adams will be recuperating at home away from the team.
