Seahawks S Quandre Diggs expected to be medically cleared in June

Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs is expected to be medically cleared from his ankle injury in June to return to football activities.

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll took to the podium on Wednesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis where he was able to provide a number of player injury updates ahead of the start of free agency.

Carroll believes safety Quandre Diggs will be ready to go by the start of training camp. Diggs suffered a dislocated ankle and a broken fibula in the Seahawks’ Week 18 win over the Cardinals to end his season

“I don’t think there is any doubt,” Carroll told reporters of Diggs’ ability to recover in time. “That’s all he’s thinking about. He’ll be back before then I would think. We really want to get him back.”

Diggs, who is set to become one of the team’s top unrestricted free agents if Seattle isn’t able to re-sign him, promptly popped on Twitter to correct the timeline for his return.

“Folks seen my injury and assumed my injury timeline 9-12 months like ACL’s or Achilles..” Diggs tweeted. “my recovery 4-5 months so that means I got 2-3 months left! Training camp start in August do the math!

ESPN’s Adam Schefter then tweeted a medical update per sources on Thursday to confirm the early summer timeline. Diggs is expected to be medically cleared from his ankle injury in June.
