Seahawks running backs on the mend ahead of Week 16 vs. Chiefs

The Seattle Seahawks running backs have been able to benefit from the extra time to rest and recuperate heading into the Week 16 matchup.

The Seattle Seahawks enjoyed a bit of a mini-bye over the weekend and it couldn’t have come at a better time for those players who are battling injuries like the running backs. Kenneth Walker III and DeeJay Dallas – both fighting ankle injuries – should definitely benefit from the rest and recuperation.

“The extra days are going to really help him,” coach Pete Carroll said Friday of Walker. “This is an issue he’s dealing with that rest helps, so these three days here, a fourth day on Monday, will really give him a chance to bounce back, so I don’t expect any problems with that.”

While Walker was able to play against the 49ers on Thursday night, Dallas was inactive and ruled out of the action.

“He’s coming back, he’s got a great attitude about it, but he’s got a legitimate high ankle sprain, so he has to make a turn here,” Carroll explained. “He’s got really a good break, and by Wednesday or so next week we’ll have a good feel for where he is. But it’s still going to be a race against it, because it’s a legitimate high ankle.”

Carroll should have updated information on Tuesday when he speaks to the media.
