The Seattle Seahawks will see the return of their starting right tackle, Brandon Shell, just in time for him to face his former teammates, the New York Jets.
Shell, who has sat out since Week 12 with an ankle injury, is ready to play on Sunday.
“He had a full week of practice and he did really well,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after Friday’s walkthrough. “He’s ready to go and really no hesitation there.”
Carroll said Shell has been a valuable addition to Seattle’s roster and it was important for him to get the chance to face off against his previous team.
“He’s just been a real positive, solid as a rock,” Carroll said. “Unfortunately he missed a couple of games here but every way, running game, pass game, he’s really been a great acquisition for us and he filled the spot and we’re real excited about him.”
The Seahawks and Jets are set to kick off at 1:05 p.m PT on Sunday.
