Seahawks preseason schedule announced

The Seahawks get their very first look at fellow NFC playoff contenders.

The official 2023 regular season schedule has been out for nearly two weeks now, but the true news everyone has been clamoring for was just announced:

Preseason football, baby!

The Seattle Seahawks’ official 2023 preseason schedule was finalized and announced late Tuesday morning. The games are:

  • Thursday, August 10th – home vs. Vikings 7:00pm PT
  • Saturday, August 19th – home vs. Cowboys 7:00pm PT
  • Saturday, August 26th – away @ Packers 10:00am PT

The Seahawks finished last year’s preseason 0-3, with narrow losses to the Steelers and Cowboys on the road, and an ugly home loss to Chicago.

This preseason will mark Seattle’s first exhibition visit to Green Bay since the summer of 2013, where the Seahawks won 17-10 during the Week 3 “dress rehearsal.” Unfortunately, the preseason has been the only time Seattle has claimed victory at Lambeau Field since 1999, winning only one other time during the 2004 preseason with a 21-3 victory.

This year’s preseason will be a bit differently than last year’s when the team was deciding who will be the starting quarterback. Now the position has been settled with Geno Smith, and the backup position likely going to Drew Lock as well. Of course, there will be other interesting position battles for fans to watch as the Seahawks get their very first look at fellow NFC playoff contenders.
