The Omicron variant is everywhere and the NFL is no exception, even among teams with near-perfect vaccination rates. The Seahawks have had players coming on and off their roster for the last several weeks and just placed defensive end Alton Robinson on their Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Robinson is in his second year in the league and he hasn’t been able to find much consistent playing time in an edge rotation also featuring Darrell Taylor, Kerry Hyder Jr. and Carlos Dunlap. In 16 games, he has been on the field for 31% of Seattle’s defensive snaps and 19% on special teams. Robinson had four sacks as a rookie but only one this season to go with 22 combined tackles and three quarterback hits.
The other three players on the Seahawks’ COVID-19 list are left guard Damien Lewis, cornerback Bless Austin and cornerback Sidney Jones, who we just learned is the only unvaccinated player on the team.
