The Seahawks appear to be in much better shape at cornerback than they were heading into the 2021 season. At the very least, they have a solid top three options on the outside in Tre Brown, D.J. Reed and Sidney Jones. However, both Reed and Jones are about to become free agents and losing either one of them would represent a significant blow to their depth.
If that happens, reloading in the 2022 NFL draft might be a good idea. In a recent three-round mock by Luke Easterling at Draft Wire, Seattle used the No. 41 overall pick on Georgia cornerback Derion Kendrick.
Kendrick (six-foot, 190 pounds) has the look and the length of a prototypical Pete Carroll cornerback. He’s also got some ball skills, having posted seven interceptions and 14 passes defensed in 49 college games. Here’s a look at some of his tape.
