Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu made a strong impression in his Seahawks debut against the Broncos on Monday Night Football, where he played a huge role in Seattle’s upset win over Denver.
Nwosu’s performance earned his NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors to kick off the 2022 NFL season.
In the 17-16 victory, Nwosu totaled seven tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, two QB hits, one pass breakup and a forced fumble. He also earned a 90.7 grade from Pro Football Focus.
Nwosu came away with one of two sacks on former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson early in the second quarter, and he also forced a fumble on Broncos running back Melvin Gordon on the 1-yard line in the third quarter.
