Seahawks intend to interview Giants’ Mike Kafka for head coaching job

The Seattle Seahawks are adding New York Giants OC Mike Kafka to their list of potential candidates to replace head coach Pete Carroll.

New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka continues to be a hot name on the NFL coaching carousel.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter now reports that the Seattle Seahawks have requested to interview Mafka for their head coaching vacancy.

The Seahawks parted ways with long-time head coach Pete Carroll last week and are reportedly seeking an offensive-minded head coach.

Kafka also interviewed for the Tennessee Titans head coaching position recently. They are another team seeking an offensive leader.

Kafka is the only Giants’ coordinator whom head coach Brian Daboll intends to retain for 2024. Defensive coordinator Wink Martindale recently “parted ways” with the team after a tiff with Daboll and special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey was fired.
