The Seahawks departed Seattle for Indianapolis on Friday with one of the healthiest rosters they’ve ever had. Not a single player was listed on the injury report as questionable, doubtful or ruled out ahead of the Week 1 matchup against the Colts.
“I don’t remember another time,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the walkthrough. “I don’t. It’s a good thing. It’s a real positive.”
Seattle opted to not play most of its starters throughout the three-game preseason, keeping guys fresh and ready for the real deal. All the rest seems to have paid off heading into the season opener.
“It has to do with a lot of elements – the conditioning that the guys put forth to get ready, then once they got here, working with our training staff and strength and conditioning and all of that, and good fortune too,” Carroll continued. “It’s a pretty good list right now.”
The Seahawks will square off against the Colts on Sunday morning – kickoff is set for 10:00 a.m. PT.
