The Seahawks secondary is coming off an incredibly strong performance in the 2022 season. Rookie Tariq Woolen’s meteoric rise at corner was a major factor – as was the arrival of Sean Desai – but the true gem on display was Seattle’s remarkable resilience at safety.
Despite losing Jamal Adams for the year after just 15 snaps, this team still got an extremely high level of safety play. After Josh Jones burned out Neal took over as the starting strong safety in Week 5. He absolutely balled out over the next 10 games before a knee injury sidelined him the last three weeks of the regular season. In the end, he posted a grade high enough to make PFF’s top five at his position.
