It’s been a surreal morning at the 2024 PGA Championship, one filled with tragedy and absurdity.

There was a fatal accident in which a man was hit by a shuttle bus, delaying the second round at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville. Then, world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested, booked and charged after trying to drive into the club to prep for Round 2.

But hours later, the golfer was out there for his scheduled tee time.

Like I said, surreal.

Around 5 a.m. Friday morning: A pedestrian is killed outside Valhalla Golf Club

Per WLKY:

According to LMPD, the man, someone who was working with a PGA vendor, was crossing Shelbyville Road around 5 a.m. Friday. They said he was in a dedicated bus lane when he was hit.

He died at the scene, police said.

Around 6 a.m.: Scottie Scheffler was detained and handcuffed

7:28 a.m.: Scheffler is booked by Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections

Around 8:40 a.m.: Scheffler is released
