Scoping out JD Davison’s growth ahead of his return to Las Vegas Summer League

His athleticism, quickness, and connection with his teammates led to impressive performances in Portland.

JD Davison is a promising prospect who was selected by the Boston Celtics in the second round of last year’s draft and will suit up for the 2023 Las Vegas Summer League with the Sin City Celtics after a season mostly playing for Boston’s G League affiliate in Maine last season.

In the G League, Davison showcased his skills, averaging 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and an impressive 8.7 assists per game. His athleticism, quickness and connection with his teammates led to impressive performances in Portland. However, Davison still has areas to improve, particularly his 3-point shooting.

If you have not kept up with his growth as a player via his play in Maine, the hosts of the “How ‘Bout Them Celtics!” podcast did the work for you, watching the best of his play last season and reacting live to his development as a player.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about Davison’s potential in Las Vegas and beyond.
