Schroder scores 30 as OKC holds off Cavs 109-103

Dennis Schroder led the Thunder in scoring for the fifth time in seven games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added a double-double in the win.

Oklahoma City kicked off their four-game home stand with a 109-103 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Dennis Schroder came off the bench to lead the Thunder with 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a double-double, scoring 23 points to go along with a team-leading 10 rebounds.

Danilo Gallinari and Chris Paul were also in double-digits, with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Much of the talk about the game wasn’t about the action on the court, but rather the action off the court and the trade rumors that have intensified surrounding the status of Gallinari.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported earlier in the evening that the Heat and the Thunder were exploring the option of trading the forward to Miami.

However, Billy Donovan told reporters, including Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman, that he did not have any conversations with OKC’s front office about trading Gallinari while the game was in progress.

While the Thunder were playing against the Cavs, Miami completed a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies for veteran wing Andre Iguodala. Per Woj, the Heat are sending fifth-year forward Justise Winslow to Memphis as part of the trade package.

With the victory, OKC has won three games in a row. They improve to 31-20 overall and 16-10 at home.

The Thunder are in third place in the Northwest Standings, two games behind Utah.

Oklahoma City is at home again on Friday when they host the Detroit Pistons.
